Social Practice & Community Art

With friends and amazing artist duo Guestwork (Erin Charpentier and Travis Neel).

Funded through the Neighbors West North-West and in partnership with Meals on Wheels and the downtown neighborhood association, we started a neighborhood choir.  The idea came to us through our visits to Meals on Wheels in SW Jefferson, where we learned that there was a lack of music in the space. There had once been a piano there that seniors would play while spending time in the space or after dropping in for a free meal.

We used the funds to buy a key-board as a replacement for the space and to hire Andrew Baird and Jeff Evans to serve as directors of the choir for fifteen weeks.  Our final performance was at the neighborhood community sale and BBQ in the Park blocks.
